Officers were dispatched to Columbus Avenue at approximately 8:22 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, where there was a report of a woman who had suffered injuries after a man forced himself on her without consent.

According to police, 63-year-old Gregory Avenue resident Rigoberto Soriano grabbed the woman and kissed her, leaving her with bruises on her arms. She was subsequently taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center for treatment.

An investigation led police to Soriano, who was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and sexual abuse, both misdemeanors. An Order of Protection was also issued on behalf of his alleged victim, barring Soriano from having contact with her. Soriano is due back in court later this month to answer the charges.
